  • I got some UT stuff signed while players were playing there. If I sell them now can I get them in trouble with the NCAA.......just kidding.

  • See that says all I need to know about and this is the last time I will devote any attention to this "story". I am sorry I wasted enough time already posting and reading other post on this, but the fact that CT is reporting that as a development says all I need to know.

If that is really what CT is trying to insinuate then just wow. If you honestly think the letter is manufactured / fabricated you are beyond stupid. No really you are retarded. So UA faked the letter opening themselves up to a shit load of lawsuits and a massive scandal that would undoubtedly result in massive firings and huge NCAA implications for no apparent reason. How stupid can you be? I am laughing but it is still sad (albeit hilarious) that people actually believe that.

And the best part is the “proof”, some people in 2011 still think that it’s impossible to be in New York and have a letter hand delivered with your signature in Tuscaloosa. Really? I mean seriously? Is there nobody around you that has ever worked in an office before? There are these things called stamps and scanners and fax machines and color copiers. Not to mention he could have signed before he left. I mean seriously what? That is your proof?

  • Well, as we have discovered, when they cannot beat you on the field, they will try
to stab you in the back through the pens of Yellow Journalists. They will still rant
and rave, but this dog just will not hunt. Kudos to our Compliance Department!

    Exactly what I thought...

Nothing says the letter wasn't already written and signed before Coach Moore left for NYC.

    CT is a goober.

So he lost his Tide Pride tickets too? That just made someone's day.

    No kiddin...

I would toe the line right down to not giving a piece of gum to a player, but if I ever needed a reminder, it would be watching someone lose his tickets panic

  • Not sure he passed the bar, which isn't that hard anyway. He is definitely not a licensed attorney in TN, according to the TN bar association.

  • To think mal moore actually signed the letter is like people believing Nick Saban signs the pictures you can order from rolltide.com. This is the modern age where people such as Mal Moore do not have time to sign and read everything, as long as he gives permission for the letter to go it doesnt matter who signed it as long as its his name.

    tdwhite88

  • Again, the implication that the letter is a fake because Mal was out of town or that the letter was hand delivered is simply awesome. Anybody that believes that is too stupid to coexist in society and needs to be in an institution. Period.

The University did not fake the letter, if you honestly feel otherwise then your stupidity greatly eclipses the average idiot.

  • Very informative, thanks Chris.

  • Anyone notice a difference in compliance departments at *U and UA?

One says: "No Comment" and "NCAA says we're clean," although the NCAA has never said such.

The other says: "We've fully investigated and turned in our findings which showed that there was no wrongdoing on behalf of the players or the university."

Which department has things it is trying to hide?

  • Ok, I have to ask: If our players signed these jerseys and then they were turned around and sold then how are our players not in trouble? It is a violation if our players knew the jerseys were going to be sold and since they were being sold at that kiosk then it's hard to say they didn't know since they're in that mall all the time. I want somebody to tell me I'm wrong and why...I want to be wrong so don't call me a damn AU fan. I'm just trying to learn more about the situation.

  • The NCAA is not going to punish a player because they think he should have known that someone else sold an autograph, etc. Plus, this supposed selling, which may not have even happened, definitely didn't happen at the same store. Sensationalist fans need to realize that it is not Trent Richardson’s (for example) responsibility to vet the personality of the people he signs autographs for. Can you imagine if the NCAA actually punished players for that, there would be hundreds of players suspended tomorrow?

    manbearpig7

  • The picture CT is using shows the jerseys being sold at the kiosk around Christmas time, per CT himself. When did the cease and desist letter go out? Around Christmas time.

Players sign jerseys, realize they are for sale, and compliance sends the cease and desist.

    Everything is not a conspiracy.

    pshedd3

  • Can you imagine if players were held responsible for autographed materials being sold? Even if they didn't have anything to do with it. You could go to EBAY right now and have 50 CFB stars suspended.

  • Exactly. Unless Dyer himself is selling a jersey or something it is insane to assume he has done anything wrong. These kids sign autographs all the time everywhere they go. It is crazy to assume that they should have responsibility for what people chose to do with the crap they sign.
