Alot of UGA fans are really upset about their class. I think they have good reason to be. All of the radio guys are acting like they have nothing to be upset about because it is still a top 10-15 class. They keep saying that they filled holes. CMR even came out and said he thinks they have the best class in America. It is ok to be quietly confident, but why would he say this? I think it is because he knows that this class, with the instate talent this year, is a failure. Getting only one of the top 10 players in your state is ridiculous, not matter what state your school is in, especially when you do not have another big time school to compete with in state. I don't count GA Tech. The potential is there as well, but it is if Paul Johnson blatantly disregards recruiting rankings out of spite. He has to be the most stubborn coach on the planet. So glad he is not our coach like some wanted.
UGA did have a solid class and alot of these guys will turn out to be great players, but they had a chance to take the next step with this crop of in state talent and dropped the ball more than usual.

I'm happy I moved out of Atlanta. Definitely don't miss the UGA homers up there.
Like the OP mentioned his biggest issue is keeping talent in state. Seems like that is becoming a problem for a lot of teams lately that used to thrive on that (Texas, USC, Miami keeping Miami kids around), whereas I think Saban puts a very strong emphasis on that, seeing as we signed the top 5 in state guys for this class. It's hard to make an argument for kids OOS when you can't land the kids in your own backyard IMO.
