I was happy to see Harper isn't in there but the Saints are dead this year. Season ticket holders should have a lawsuit if they could find an angle to get it heard in court.

With all the lawsuits the NFL is taking on the saints put the league in this position. The NFL and Goodell have to cover their asses and by suspeneding everyone they are saving face and posturing themselves for looking better in the courtroom. Its just a cover

Players still role the dice on PEDs knowing there's a four game suspension for the first time. I don't predict any team will continue to have a bounty program. It may be harsh, but it will have the intended effect.

Don't really see them being dead this year. Still got Brees, Colston, sproles, Ingram, and graham. Vilma wasn't good last year and I could argue they are better off at that position this year.

Yep. I noticed how the saints as an organization got off rather light. However, the players and coaches were hit with pretty stiff penalties. I am sure the fact that roger works for the owners had nothing to do with that.

As a Saints fan, Im actually satisfied with this outcome. I was worried it would be more.. Losing Vilma sucks but we signed Lofton, Chamberlain, and Hawthorne in FA so we should be ok at LB. His leadership will be missed but it's not like he played great last year anway. Smith will hurt for the first 4 games but he'll be back for the stretch run. The other 2 don't even play for the Saints anymore. Remember, Saints D sucked last season and we still won the division. Carmichael called the plays for most of the year on offense with Payton hurt. If, and a big if, we maintain chemistry on O without the head coach then we should be fine. Also, like Ingram said, that chip on their shoulder just got bigger. Not saying they'll win the division because the head coach not being there can be very detrimental but they should contend.

If a player took money to go after someone, and they put them out of the game with a legal hit, then I would agree with you. Vilma put up bounty himself and named names...this is an appropriate punishment.
