  • wow this is some crazy barn writing.

So they list out a ton of recruits that are committed elsewhere and don't even have the Barn in the top 5 but they still list them as if they had a chance?

  • on 97.3 they are talking about how it appears the Auburn Coaching Staff has been using recruits to try and influence the Auburn Administration to keep them.

According to them numerous recruits have made comments about how they will stay with their commitment if so and so remains. Griff and Scarbinsky said it seems like that was directed by the coach not the player.

I hope it works. Nothing would bring me more joy than seeing Chizik return. However, I can't see it happening.

  • Considering Johnson is likely to de-commit when Chizik is inevitably fired and even they say Williams could de-commit soon, their offensive class looks horrendous right now. I mean just awful.

Their defensive class looks great in the front 7...until you realize that Foster could flip to UGA and we could steal Liner. Secondary looks worrisome. Man, they're in some serious trouble.

Exactly...certain coaches including Chiz are still "All In". & now that is looks like Jacobs & Tim Jackson will keep their jobs. They r rallying around Chiz & the goons! Van Gorder, Martinze, & Loeffler are 100% gone either way. But certain peoples jobs are riding on if Chiz stays or goes. It's a win win situation for us any way it turns out!!!!! rolltideroll Just think if Chiz stays with Trooper & Luper. & they salvage a Top 10 or Top 5 class through this season. The barn fan base will see them as heroes once again. After certain people pump them with more spin!

That's the problem. They can't really fire Van Gorder and Loeffler but bring Chizik back. What's the point in that? You gave your two new coordinators one season to prove themselves, it went disastrously, now fire them and start all over with two new schemes for the 3rd year in a row but bring back the head coach? Can't see it.

Chizik's national title is the only thing that makes me think he has a chance in hell of returning. The man has lost his last 9 SEC games and lost them by an average of 23 points. In the past two years they have lost 13 games (soon to be 14). Some of the point differentials? 14, 24, 35, 38, 28, 18, 17, 21, 42, and 28....!!!!!!!! We'll beat them by 28+ as well.

I mean that program is so far buried that I think you have to fire the whole lot of them.

  • Sure they can. & if you listen to Van Gorders comments. He's pretty much already gone. & not many bought into Loeffler from the start. Would be my guess that they go back to a variation of the spread. Since that is still the majority of the type players they have. & this is AU that we r talking about here.

I have never seen a team flip coordinators as much as them. If I was Van Gorder I would be out this team is killing his reputation as even an average D coach.

Then what happens if they start 2-3 next year....can't wait to see that. I really hope they keep Chiz, lose some recruits, and continue to be a laughing stock next year.

I hope you're right but I just can't see it. Going back to the spread after one season? It's too much change and I've never seen a program flip back and forth like that before. I definitely expect Van Gorder and Loeffler to be gone but I fully expect Chizik to go with them. I can't see how the administration could trust him to not only continue coaching but also hire 2 new coordinators after this debacle.

The man has lost his last 9 SEC games and by an average of 23 points. In the past two seasons he has losses of 14, 24, 35, 38, 24, 18, 17, 21, 42, 38....!!!! We'll beat them by 28+ and it'll be over for Chizik. There's no way you can bring him back with how badly he has buried that program, national title or not.

  • Look at their OL commits/targets. How do you not take a handful of linemen each year? They currently have none committed and are (apparently) only going to sign one? I don't know much about recruiting, but I know I would be trying to get linemen every year just to make sure I had some big men who could play in the SEC. It's like Franchione is their recruiting coordinator.

Noticed that too. I know they have signed several big time recruits on the OL the past few years but I can't imagine they WANT to only sign 1 this cycle. You have to play 5 a game and need depth after all. That spells trouble IYAM but so does everything else with their program right now so what's the difference?
