  • I got a big "ROLL TIDE, my son" from St Peter when I had a near-life experience.

When he fist-bumped you, did he blow it up at the end, or just end it normally?

  • Wearing a bama hat/shirt in NYC is an almost guarantee to hear a "Roll Tide" or two while you're out and about.

This city is crawling with Bama alums/fans.

Have to admit I was a bit surprised when he went for the high-5, the Bear hip-checked him and shook my hand like a real man. I woke up to a mess I hadn't seen since I was 13. Roll Freakin' Tide.

A couple of years ago, in Seattle, WA, getting ready to go on an Alaskan cruise...stepped outside of the hotel lobby and greeted with a big "Roll Tide". Also, on our cruise, there were at least a dozen other Bama fans...

My brother got married in Seattle in the summer of 2001. While he and I were wating for our mother to arrive at her terminal, I spotted an Alabama hat that a guy had on. I went over to him and asked him if he had attended Alabama.
I assumed the answer would be yes but he said no.He said that he wore the Alabam hat because he was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and that Derrick Thomas had played at Alabama.

I'd almost prefer that to him being from/being an alum of Alabama!

Ah yeah 2001 the wounds from DT's passing were still fresh. He is an absolute legend in KC.

  • OK. Now I feel like I'm stuck in a barner commercial.

I remember the one your referencing. Where the two *U fans meet up at Old Faithful and say whore beagle to each other.
They were trying a little too hard with that one.

  • My uncle needs a Bama helmet with the number 14 on it so he can attach it to his Chevron emails that he sends within the Changzhou Provence of China. He will live there for 3 years, and wants to spread the love for the Tide to the commies.

Any help with the little small, cartoonish 14 helmet that works in an email sig?

  • I live in Michigan about half way between UofM and Michigan State. I am always wearing some form of Bama Gear. I get a "Roll Tide" about every other week.

  • I went to a CYO girl's basketball game yesterday wearing my Bama hat here in Grosse Pointe, MI, and I hear a "Roll Tide" from a young boy who is wearing a Bama shirt. I ask him and his dad if he knows about UA football and he says that Alabama is his favorite team. I told him that I have been a Bama fan since I was his age and that we have won 9 NCs since then. His eyes got big and he said, "Nine championships, that's more than the Packers!"

  • Two years ago my wife and I get off the plane in Costa Rica for our honeymoon, and go to catch a cab. I am wearing my Bama hat and one of the guys hailing the cabs sees my hat and says "Is that Alabama? Johnny Musso, Major Ogilvie, Joe Namath, Bear Bryant?" So I say yes, of course. He's going on and on about how he loves the Crimson Tide, and it just brings a smile to my face knowing that Alabama is known the world over. As we are getting in the cab he gives me a big Roll Tide so I oblige him with one as well.

My son lives in New Haven, CT and is a teacher up there. He's converted about 90 8th graders to Bama up there. He also has gotten a couple of Roll Tides up there as well.

I live in Plainville CT and my family has converted about 30 neighborhood kids to the Bama Nation! I cook wings every game and we have all 6 TVs tuned to the game. They all sport Bama Jersey's its their ticket to game day in our house.

There were HUNDREDS of Bama fans in New Orleans Saturday for the Rock and Roll Marathon. They were everywhere, both in the race and cheering from the streets. Saw more Bama people than LSU people and I'm not kidding.

Hey Morgan.. I was running the half-marathon in my Bama T-shirt. I got a lot of Roll Tides too. I wore Bama gear all weekend while in New Orleans. LSU fans have been humbled. Manager at my hotel was an LSU grad. She and I went back and forth with each other all weekend. Had a great weekend.

Clark, I ran the half as well. I probably yelled Roll Tide at you during the race at some point. I did not have any Bama gear on but was wearing a red/crimson long sleeve t shirt.
