What is it about Alabama basketball?

  • Does anyone else think it is excessively painful to watch Alabama basketball? Even when we win it is so unsatisfying.

    I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it is our offensive ineptitude; maybe it is our lack of effort down the stretch; maybe it is all the bitching and whining our players do on the court.

    whatever it is, it is so un-Saban like. Our basketball team is the antithesis of the qualities Saban represents. you see selfishness, lack of discipline, and lack of focus in this team. Ultimately they can't sustain down the stretch. I think the best thing coach Grant could do would be to spend as much time as possible with Coach Saban and learn how to be a Jedi warrior from him.

  • Sounds to me like you just don't like college basketball. I'm not a huge fan of b-ball (college or pro) for the reasons you stated... its not a Bama thing, its a b-ball thing.

    That said, I still like to watch Bama play when I can, but its rarely on TV here which makes it kinda difficult to follow very close.

    If you criticize the basketball team on here, the "true" basketball fans will say your just a football fan. You can't do that here. This is not a place for criticism. Personally that attitude is why we allow ourselves to fall as far as we have since Wimp. Yes, I remember when sweet 16s were happening and being in the tournament was all but guaranteed so maybe I have a higher expectation than these new "true" fans.

    Your wrong Coach grant has plenty of Discipline he is just rebuilding the team man, The only thing we need to improve is our offensive side our players were not confident shooters and we didn't have any good plays in our playbook. next year we should be better

  • Lets see, we open the season playing solid ball with both Green and Mitchell avg 14 a game and near double digits in rebounding. Mitchell gets suspended, Green gets hurt and for the majority of SEC play we go without both our leading scorers on the court and when Green was on the court he played with a hurt shoulder. Releford has been playing with some type of injury most the season and not to mention when Lacey started to come into his own, ge rolls his ankle.

    F**k it though, why let facts stand in the way....some of you just flat out like to Bitch. Others just will never be wrong. Were their mistakes made this year? Of course and they were made by players and coaches but dammit if you're gonna bitch, at least throw out all the facts. This team was really starting to mesh to end the season last year and we picked up where we left off and progress was being made until the shit hit the fan.

    When Lacey, Rele, Randolph, Coop, Jacobs, etc..take the floor next year, there is no doubt in my mind this team will shut the naysayers up and once again take Bama to the Sweet 16 or better.
