You know, if the current crop of students don't get tickets, they'll never care about the team at all. I want to say roughly 50% of the student body is out of state now, and a big part of this is making them fans in the first place.

I usually leave a little early if it is a night game and we have a comfortable lead. I like to beat traffic and have my family well rested for church service on Sunday morning. Is that ok with our stadium etiquette monitors? You can watch the end of the next blow out from my prestigious empty seat.

I'm seriously getting tired of hearing about the students. I was a student there from 2008 until I graduated this past May. I stayed to the end of every ball game I attended, win or lose. But I never minded the students who left early during blow outs for several reasons:

1. These are 18-25 year old college kids. Let them live and be kids. It's a Saturday afternoon/evening. Homework awaits on Sunday.

2. The students always have to arrive 2 hours before kickoff to be ensured of good seats. They don't have the luxury of the rest of you arriving 15-20 minutes before kickoff. Depending on what game it was and what network the game was on, students could be in that stadium for 5-6 hours straight. Because they're packed in so tight in the lower bowl for the bigger games, 4 or 5 of those hours could pass by without anyone being able to sit down.

3. You older folks do it, too. There were quite a few games last year where I would look up to the North Endzone from the Student Section and see HUGE areas of unoccupied space late in the 3rd and and also early parts of 4th quarters.
