When You Start Hearing the Michigan " Most Wins Ever " BS --

  • These are the simple facts . The NCAA list these stats .

    1 - Most Wins Ever - Michigan - 895 vs . Bama - 815

Fact - Michigans football program started in 1879 , Thirteen years before Bama
started our program in 1892 . Had we averaged just six wins per season the
records would be nearly identical .

Fact - Bama was forced to forfeit 29 games and one tie due to Dumbose and
Stallings . ( I apologize to the Stallings fans . His arrogance caused the Antonio
Langham situation . If he had handled it right , Antonio would have been suspended
for one game and we never would have seen probation . I love Stallings the man ,
but he was Totally responsible for that . You can't throw the NCAA out of your office.
His arrogance with that disappoints me to this day .

My point is you put those thirty wins back in and no one is close to us in any category.

Clearly . Bama has the most storied history in college football .

  • Does Michigan have any vacated wins?

  • So what you're saying is, that they do have the most wins and it isn't BS. I really don't care how many games they won in the past. I remember counting past wins during the Shula era to make myself feel better, but the ugly truth was that I'd have traded 5 past wins to stomp Tubberville once and make him shove those fingers up his a$$. The important thing is that they won't be talking about those 895 wins after we make their a$$ quit.

  • It would have been a truly amazing feat for us to average 6 wins a year from 1879-1892, since teams only played a handful of games a year back then.

Sorry, but Michigan's wins are legit. FYI, for that time period Michigan played 55 total games (so 4 games a year) winning 34.

  • This thread reminds me of the threads Auburn fans make with randomly selected numbers of years to make Auburn seem like it's on par... "Let's take a look at the last 31 years..."

    Bleedscrimson

  • Your math confuses me... 895 - 815 = 80 But if we get 30 wins back all of a sudden we have the most??? You should never drink the bong water son.

  • Why would there be any need to denigrate their accomplishments? This isn't Auburn we're talking about......Michigan is a great university with great tradition and is a cornerstone program in college football. I hope our fan base stays away from stuff like this.

One undeniable Michigan "win" occurred in April of 1865 when members of the 2nd Michigan Cavalry and their cohorts burned the University of Alabama campus. It was a senseless and malicious act, given that the defending UA students had retreated east to the Hurricane Creek Bridge, and the War was to end 4 days later at Appomattox Court House.

Are we to dismiss this Michigan/Yankee - inflicted holocaust at our beloved University, as if it never happened? Not me.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of Michigan's first wins were against High School teams.

  • I apologize to the Stallings fans . His arrogance caused the Antonio Langham situation .

If I recall, Stallings reported the situation to Hootie Ingram and Ingram failed to report.... Thats why Hootie was Fired... It was amazing how Clean Hootie was at F$U all those years and decided to cover up when he got to Bama.
