Who else agrees with this? (looking a little ahead, I know)

  • If we make the tourney (which I think we will) and are fortunate to get past our round 1 opponent. Does anyone else wish that we get to play a Duke, Mizzou, G'Town, Baylor, or Wisc? I would choose Duke because we are trying to build something here and any chance u get to play a Coach K team is a great opportunity for so many things on so many levels. Plus, they are vulnerable this year against teams that like to run up the pace and those other teams I mentioned are the best chance for any underdog shocker too IMO. Teams like KU, Mich St, UNC, and Ohio St are the teams that IMO would most likely dominate us because of their great size, guard play and REBOUNDING dominance. A stat that we arent consistent with at all.
    I'm just being honest with the style of play that would be to our advantage and I know I am looking way too far ahead but could not help myself because I really think we took a giant step last night in "team confidence". Its one thing to do it at home vs a hot UT team but to take that same lineup and go travel to Bud Walton and a Mike Anderson coached team and win is bigger than most would think if measured it by looking at ARK's record. Momentum and confidence is a helluva thing..crazy things can happen at crazy times if you have both of them at the right time. I think late Feb is a good time, dont you?

  • The problem with the scenario where we play those teams (Duke, Mizzou, G'town, Baylor or Wiscy) is that puts us at a 10 seed or worse cause those are 2 and 3 seeds. I don't want any part of being a 10 seed due to the chance that we could have to participate in the play-in game.

    Basically being anywhere from 8 to 10 is an awful place to be due to either possibly being in the play-in game or having to play a 1 seed in the second round.

    With that said if we can be an 8 or 9 and miss Kentucky or Syracuse then that would be great.

    Any team that plays with a lot of energy benefits us cause we tend to feed off the energy and tempo of our opponent. Arkansas has brought out some of our best basketball and I think that is directly related to the increased temp of the game.

    We CAN'T play UK in Rd 2...the committee isn't allowed to have conf teams play each other that soon unless there are so many teams from the conference that it cant be avoided....but Syracuse would cause us real problems us with that zone of theirs.

  • I agree we can cause duke fits with aggressive play. But that being said I watched them dominate an fsu team that plays aggressive. Duke was draining threes even when they were contested. When they get hot they'll run about anyone out of the gym. Now I personally would love to draw missouri. I think they are vulnerable and for the most part overachieved this year
