Why don't our students offer more support at

Basketball games? Is it because we don't have a better tradition, the slow offense we play? What is it ? Watching Pitt and Syracuse, and the Pitt students are really involved.

It's really hard to get excited with our style of play. I go to the games, but I can't just "go crazy" for this team.

put a better product on the court and they will come...until then no. It's not like football, but then again everyone complains about the student attendance there as well. That would be solved by taking away the upper deck seating though.

Thanks, I had a feeling that is a large part of it. I watch the "big boy" teams and we don't look anything like them. They are really well coached.

Why don't our nonstudent fans show up to basketball games? Why are students the only ones there making any noise? I hope this is just a troll thread

This state is dominated by a football culture. Only sustained success in bball over many years will change that

Yep. During the mid 2000s of Gottfried era student seating would be at least 50-75% full for pretty much all games, and was 75%-100% for SEC games.
The rest was generally awful.

They're working on a much more elegant solution to the issue with the upper deck. The cultural problem with people not coming at all or leaving early is another issue entirely.
