He has confirmed that his final two choices are Stanford and FL state. Welcome to the ship Mr. Morris! And goodluck, Winston.

Did anyone else sour on winston the more you heard him talk as the recruiting process wore on? I was never really sure that CNS was gonna allow someone to split time with Baseball, esp. a QB, so I never truly thought we'd get him, but I think the recruiting and the arsekissing got in ol' JW's head just a little bit...

  • That's the first time I ever heard Stanford mentioned.

Anyhow, some of y'all are just too much. Why do you get your feelings hurt every time a kid commits to another school? Here's a news flash for you: everyone can't play at Alabama. Instead of taking parting shots at the kid, show some class and wish him well. It's not as if he's going to the Barn.

Furthermore, if I were Winston I don't think I would come to Alabama either. AJ is firmly entrenched as the starter for the next two seasons, and there is no guarantee that he will become the starter after AJ departs. After all he's a dual-threat QB, and the type of offense we run is not an ideal fit for a dual-threat QB. Florida State is probably a better fit from a baseball standpoint as well. For the life of me, other than being the hometown school, I can't see why he would choose Alabama. The fact that we were as big of a factor in his recruitment as we were is a testament to our coaching staff.

In the end kids have to do what's best for them, and I think Winston and his father have made a solid choice in Jimbo Fisher and Florida State. I just don't see why that is so hard to see.

Why does he have a final 2 choices when he is already committed and re-affirmed his commitment numerous times? Is he that starved for attention?

    Ya think? Lol

  • Guys on here need to stop acting like jilted lovers. I have not read any "anti Bama" comments that he said other than the fact he was solid to FSU. It sucks losing a dude from your back yard but it happens from time to time. Bama gets their fair share of recruits from other teams backyard (Chris Black Landon Collins Amari Cooper Artie Burns from FSU, LSU and Miami and a bunch more) Let it me he made his choice show class move on.

  • His mentality in general never seemed like it would fit well in Tuscaloosa. His cockiness/goofiness runs counter to the identity our program has.

Sort of reminds me of an entitled, arrogant version of Star Jackson.

I genuinely wish him luck, but we won't miss a beat without him. Just wish he'd officially eliminated us sooner to cut out all the grab-a**ing in the media about it.

Well said, and that's NOT just sour grapes---I feel the same way. I wouldn't have minded it if it weren't for the insistence on baseball, but, I would not want our QB splitting their time...life as an SEC QB on a Championship caliber team is hard enough without adding all the baseball commitments...
