With all the pressure on the Georgia Bulldogs going forward,

  • they have to play that GTech triple option this weekend. Georgia has not been this close to a NC in 30 years. With all the NC talk surrounding th Bulldogs, can they survive a game against a team that presents a very difficult scheme to prepare for? I know they played GA Southern but Gtech is totally different animal.

They have been very close twice in the past 10 years. Little more research next time.

  • Add to the fact that UGA handled Georgia Southern's option offense pretty well this week:

When was Ga 2games from playing in a NC game in the last 10 years?

  • Wouldn't shock me to see them struggle. UGA now knows if they win their next 2 games they are going to Miami. As we saw on Saturday, that pressure can be tough to deal with. I think it affected us against A&M too, and our guys are pretty used to it.

You can preach one game at a time 24/7, but the players are human, they look ahead at what's riding on each game. But I think they will beat GT, and I think they will give us all we want in Atlanta too. They are playing good ball right now.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

and regardless of what some posters in this thread believe, UGA has not played a game this late in November with a trip to the NC game on the line since they had the great H.Walker carrying the load. I think they'll feel the pressure come gametime. Gtech will be fired up also.

2005 and 2007. Both years they were within 2 games or closer. Give me my +1's back.

If you call handling it giving up 300 yards on the ground then sure

In 2007, they were not playing for a championship this late in the season. Other teams that were in the title hunt started losing. WVU, LSU had two losses as well. UGA fans started saying they should be considered for it since they only had two losses and finished the season pretty strong. That situation was not like this one when they know if they win out they are in it. GT is not a great team but it is a challenge they have to take seriously/prepare for or they could be upset. I believe the SEC title game will be a battle but lets not forget that his same UGA team was a score away from losing to Kentucky and Tennessee.

They have not entered the final weekend of the season with a "win and you're in" game.

My point is that to say that UGA has not been close in 30 years is inaccurate. Maybe we should beat someone and gloat, instead of talking trash ahead of time and look stupid like some on here after aTm. Just win. That's it. Focus and win.

I'm not talking trash about anything. I said I think it will be a battle but that this UGA team has been very inconsistent and has played extremely close games against teams worse than GA Tech. Over the years, UGA has shown that they have all of the talent in the world but have mental lapses. I think the pressure of knowing you have the opportunity to go to the national championship by winning the rest of your games is a lot of pressure. Especially for a team that has not been in the situation recently. Look at Kansas State. With the way UGA plays, they could lose to GT and then show up and give us a great game or even beat us. I don't think that will happen though. That is not talking trrash.

They held them to 14 points, stopping them when it mattered. I don't know (or care to look up) who GASO may have lost, but that team put 341 yards and 21 points on our defense last year, when we were #1 in every defensive category. If you want to look at specific stats, http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=323220061 (http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=313230333 to compare to the 2011 Alabama game)

Point being, of course, I'd be surprised if GaTech does much against them. Of course, rivalry game and all that, but Tech's way down this year - enough so that Johnson is reportedly on the hot seat. Maybe not quite as low as Auburn, but I'd be surprised if either game this weekend is much of a fight.

i get your point but ga southern is not ga tech. Paul Johnson's team has struggled on defense but they can move the ball.
