    And also... just a thought here... but this lawsuit is coming now from something that happened 2 yrs ago. This means 1 of 2 things: She decided 2 yrs later that she might be able to make some money out of this ordeal OR she's been going back and forth with the Cowboys for 2 yrs and the Cowboys are basically saying, "Fine, then just sue us." Typically, the Cowboys would throw her a few bucks to avoid legal fees and dumb pub. Sounds to me like she got greedy.

  • May not be popular opinion with some of you but what happened to using common sense? No lawsuit should be filed here, but I'm not surprised there is one. Have any of you been on the beach when it's blazing hot outside? The sand is hot enough to burn your feet at some places so maybe I'll have my lawyers ready next time I take a beach vacation. Oh and if you're prone to suing people please stay away from the new Japanesse restaurant in my town that has the hibachi bar. That place is freaking awesome and I don't want to lose it over some kid burning their hand on the live stove because you weren't watching them.

    I thought the same thing until I studied that case in one of my legal classes back in the day. Mickey D's was intentionally heating their coffee wayyyy up to avoid having to brew new pots. Yeah the lady was a clutz for spilling the coffee on herself, but she wouldn't have suffered those kind of burns if the coffee was at the proper temperature. The coffee was scalding her skin through two layers of clothing while she was trying to pull them off.

    It's been a while since I read it but if I recall correctly McDonald's was serving their coffee 40 degrees hotter than anyone else and burns had been reported to them several times before and they decided to take no action.

  • If I sit on something hot I get up I don't continue sitting while my butt is scalded. For people who think these lawsuits are okay, I bet you complain about your insurance deductible being too high. One reason insurance is so much is to cover these ignorant lawsuits.

    I didn't read up on the story but I can't act like I know everything based on the info in that article.

    I read up on that mcdonalds suit in a class once and was surprised how little I knew. If you google the pictures, you might b shocked. Mcdonalds was absolutely negligent.

    If this is bs, I hope that chick is forced to pay jerry
