a different perspective on next years schedule

  • I've noticed the prevailing notion is that next years scheduled relatively weak. Granted there aren't a ton of premier top 10 teams but I also think we have less "slip up" margin for error.
Ole Miss, AU, Ark, will all be more challenging opponents than they were last year. VT is better than Michigan.
I still suspect we will win those games. And it really comes down to @ ATM.
But the sleepwalk games will require our full focus.

I agree with most of your post but not sure why you think Va Tech is better than Meechigan. They gave S Carolina all they wanted at the end of the year and prolly should've won. Granted, SC had some injuries.

Ole miss, auburn, and ark should all be better but I can see Lsu and A&M taking a step back. We will be favored in every game again and if our young OL can find their groove then we will be playing a top 10 SEC east team in Atlanta for a chance at an unprecedented 3peat. Good times for sure.

  • I don't think VT is better than Michigan. But most of us don't realize how lucky we were last year. Even if we are better and our schedule is easier we probably can't lose a game this year and still go all the way either. Winning them all is never easy.

Have you seen Fsu or Ohio State's schedule? If either lose a game then a 2 loss SEC team should be ranked ahead of them. Anyone that gives Bama grief needs to look at the schedules of the other top ranked teams.

  • I think we make it 3 in a row next year. VT will be a 3 TD game and then "The Game" that we will win. I said it before, Last year Johnny Football win the Heisman against Alabama, this year he will lose it against us.

  • Bama vs Ohio St in Pasadena. Calling it now. A schedule can't be more favorable than OSU's.

Agreed. If they don't go undefeated with their schedule something has gone terribly wrong.

I can't agree with you Lefty...
Ole Miss more challenging, yes agreed.
Arky/Aub maybe by the time we play them but as of now I don't see it. Both teams are transitioning...Aub back to where they should have never left, but with a coach that I think is in way over his head. they'll win a few more games, but I expect they'll get throttled in more than a few...as for Arky, the are moving to a more pro style offense and I don't think are equipped to transition very easily. they have a bad D, inexperienced OL, QB, and might be starting a fresh at RB...I see, again as of now, whipping both those guys.

As for VT being better than Big Blue, I don't think so...VT has nothing much at the skill positions and they traditionally start slow...too much time to prepare for them = easy win IMO.

Last season proved that team could focus; I'll be interestingly listening and watching for signs of focus and leadership from this team...if we have it, we are set up to do quite well...if we are lacking a Square, Fluker type on each side of the ball we might struggle in the focus dept...I like CJ to step up and I'd love to see J Fulton take a starting corner job as I think he'd help from a leadership standpoint. I also like Pagan in that dept. This is AJ's team on offense and I think he manages that part of it well with an assist from Steen.

I agree Ole Miss, AU and Ark will be better than last yearr but they'll still be 2 TD dogs and we'll cover.....easily. I don't agree that VT is as good as Michigan. More importantly our schedule is set up perfectly with byes in front of our two toughest foes; LSU and A&M. I think that's a big reason people feel our schedule is easier.

I would love to see it but Ohio St is and will always be nothing more than A CHOKE TEAM!

Bring on whoever wants to step up but it won't be OSU.

They were the only undefeated team last year and didn't lose many key guys. They'll make to Pasadena and get curb stomped by CNS and our guys. OSU's greatest chokes have been in BCS games

  • As many have pointed out...Vtech is terrible and would get slaughtered by Michigan. Vtech has absolutely nothing to cause worry, offense is bad defense is worse.

Other than that yea auburn will be better by default but I am not sure Arkansas will. Tennessee will be comically bad. Ole miss improves, state may even improve a bit. A&M takes a small step back and LSU takes a large step back. Kentucky will suck.

In reference to Arky and aub, and to some degree VaTech, I was considering program stability/absence of outside distractions, controversy etc.

Talent may be down but I think those teams will be more focused this year as compared to last,
The differential may be marginal in he if any it affects the first s score. But Arky and au were train wrecks when we played them.

From that angle; I certainly agree with you.

What? 1979, 1992, 2009 the only undefeated seasons for Bama since 1966.
