The players were allegedly told over 5 hours ago. You can be darn certain that if over 100 football players, coaches, and other staff members were told that the athletic director at Auburn University had been fired, this message board certainly wouldn't be the only place you would be reading about it. Word would have spread like wildfire around campus. And why only the football team? Jacobs isn't a football coach. If you tell athletes, you tell all of them.

You don't announce the firing of an athletic director to a football team...certainly not to the exclusion of other teams.

Perhaps they pinky promised not to tell anyone.

Another swing and a miss. Nothing personal against the OP. Sounds like he has a good track record. It just seems like this always happens. People jump the gun and post without having confirmation other than what they heard from somebody. Also there is a lot of specific information that isn't the case. When will people learn? If your source is not someone that has firsthand knowledge, its probably a better idea to be a little more cautious about putting it on the board. Again I mean no disrespect. RTR!
