Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but on TV night games at Bryant-Denny appear less well lit than other stadiums. Anyone else notice this? It's like our stadium lights are on a dimmer.

    I've noticed this.

When was the last time we saw an Alabama team play a home game with the focus Bama had at knoxville, the Superdome or Jerry World? Alabama always plays sluggish at home. I dont know why but they do, and its not a Nick Saban era thing. Its happened to multiple coaches over the years.

I don't think they always play sluggish at home, but how many "motivational" games have been at Bryant-Denny lately? Other than a few that people have named the biggest games have been away from T-Town

  • I think if everyone took every game played since 2007 and evaluated how we played each one as flat vs well, it would show its not weighted either way. If you use that approach technically you'd have to toss the perceived cupcakes from the eval because we don't play them away, but keep them in there for arguments sake. We lost two games two years ago away because we had our heads in our arse and should have lost the Arky game. We gave up early scores to UF and OM on the road last year just like we did at home against UT. We blew out North Texas, we were flat against GSU. We blew out Arky, I could argue we started very flat against MSU. I think if you look at it home and away they data would say we play flat on the road too. Keep it fair and ensure you compare equal games on the road vs at home.
To the blow out list at home I'd add Vandy last year and Penn St the year prior.
Somebody with the time and an objective mind, please humor the masses as it appears we have decent arguments on both sides here.

I hear what youre saying but monday morning after the ole miss game it was doom and gloom..monday morning after WKU the same...We all know how these games usually go but we still complain. I agree, it has a lot to do wih the fact that Bama plays a lot of scrub teams at home. I guess im saying that Alabama beats good teams worse than they beat the bad ones in my opinion. Games against really good teams nevery worry me, its the ones like Bama has on Saturady that concern me. MSU is a good little team that can play within 14 points of Alabama if Bama is sluggish....At the end of the day its laughable to say Im worried about only winning by 2 TD's but thats Bama football these days..
