what type of back was polk at washington?

Was he a slasher like james at oregon or can he pound you in to submission like we are accustomed to. Just curious what nus worked with last year

Polk is a bigger back at 220+ and was used in a similar light to Richardson in that he ran between the tackles, some stretch stuff to the outside, caught screens, etc. The one difference I've noticed is that Washington ran some zone read, which is due to Jake Locker and Keith Price being very capable runners.

I'm assuming more toward the powerful end ESPN has him listed at 5'11 and 225, and he had 2 very succesful 1400 yd seasons, here is a link to his stats = http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/379206/chris-polk

I saw that 2...He was very elusive for his 220 frame tho..very impressive back imo

I am excited about Nus I think he is going to be like a kid in a candy shop when he sees the talent he's got on campus. Hearing pat hill say that he is a gifted play caller and that he a JM clone I think this is a home run hire.

I mentioned in another thread about Coach Nuss is that Polk is arguably the second best back in the draft this year. Being in the middle of the country I get the disgust of watching west coast football at night and the horrible defenses, but Polk is a legit between the tackles guy with great speed. I thought Polk was one of the reasons we hired Coach Nuss. RTR.
