to john hannah and dwight stephenson...
IF he moves to center and IF bama wins another natty this year, does barrett jones become the greatest offensive lineman in alabama history?
that would be 3 national championships and (at least) 1 outland trophy as a starter at 3 different positions.

at the least, the most versatile. i think if you keep it to a college perspective, he has to be mentioned.

Possibly. I think a lot of JH and DS history is attributed to their success in the NFL. Don't get me wrong. There is absolutely no doubt they were two of the best OL in Bama history. But it's hard to compare BJ to these two NFL HOF members without thinking about their NFL success. If you compare apples to apples BJ is probably already in the conversation with the best that ever played OL at Bama. I guess the question is what is the best way to evaluate OL? They all grade out about the same. So I guess it does come down to post-season awards and championships at the college level. With that criteria, BJ is among the very best.

John Hannah is one of the greatest if not the greatest Olineman of all time. Jones is in the group but JH is the greatest.

If he were here, there are those players Coach Bryant would speak well of for their deeds both on and off the field and Barrett Jones would be one of em. John Hannah was a great one and Barrett Jones will be too.

I have watched through all of them. Bama Trending got it right. They are all great, but Barrett does not yet have their NFL certifications.

no way he can be considered the greatest, imo because hannah is one of the best, if not the best, to EVER play. Jones is very good, but not as dominant as either of the two you mentioned

If you keep it on the level as best ever at Alabama and not include Pro, I think there is a good argument for his case. RTR

No way. John Hannah was absolute road grader. He was lethal and should have been banned from the game. He was totally unfair to the opposition. He has never had an equal, and may never.
