Zzyzx Rd., what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Btw, the car's for me and I'm not in my 40's. But thanks for gracing this thread with your presence.

It amazes me that people think the only thing men should drive are trucks and muscle cars. Of course I love both, my dream car is a 1970 GTO, but I've been into the Sport Compact and related market since high school and don't feel like changing. It's a niche in the auto hobby I know well and enjoy.

Or someone who has a friend that is or might happen to know the answer to this question: Has an initial price point been made for the 2013 Ford Focus ST with the I4 EcoBoost engine? I'm very interested in the Focus (love the look and would be great to get mileage in the same ballpark as the VW TDI line) but I haven't found anything concrete on the EcoBoost model other than the fact it'll be coming out later this year. Thanks guys.

In that case, I suggest an Acura TL. You get good mileage (32 hwy, 27 city - actual, not sticker) and you also get a car that's comfortable and will get up and go when you need it to. And the best part...it's not a Ford Focus.
Or, if you're concerned about the money, buy an '88 Corolla. The money you save on the initial cost will easily make up the difference in fuel economy for years and years. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cooler than a Focus.

I never thought I would say this, but, for the money(If I was gonna spend bw 28k-30k), I would seriously consider the 2012 Kia OPTIMA. They start around 20k for a base model and fully loaded for 28k.
My sister bought one and she says she avg's 38.mpg. this thing has heated and cooled front seats and heated rear seats, Infinity sound system, nav, touchscreen display, sirius sat radio, hell the damn thing even has a heated steering wheel(fwiw). It blew me away when she brought it over to the house to show me and my wife. those are options that most vehicles get into the 40ks to get. She aslo said it comme with a 10yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. thats pretty strong.
I drive a 06 Ford 500 limited and get beween 26-29mpgs. I love it.

Are there any Ford reps/salesmen on the board?
