Zzyzx Rd., what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Btw, the car's for me and I'm not in my 40's. But thanks for gracing this thread with your presence.

Good poster, stupid post. Save the fake outrage for your gay marriage threads.

It amazes me that people think the only thing men should drive are trucks and muscle cars. Of course I love both, my dream car is a 1970 GTO, but I've been into the Sport Compact and related market since high school and don't feel like changing. It's a niche in the auto hobby I know well and enjoy.

So you came out in high school....thats cool.

I'm only messin with ya, it's a fun thread.

  • The big question is, why does the OP want a Focus when he could have a nice Honda Element or Mini Cooper? Or that car from the Ambiguously Gay Duo cartoon?

  • Cars are like children and people tend to think theirs is/are automatically the best. I am driving a 2012 Hyundai Sonata (not the hybrid) and love it. Nice, quiet ride with really good gas mileage (over 30 on my last tank which did include mostly highway driving) from a standard 4 cylinder engine cranking out 200 horses. The turbo version will crank out 270, but you do lose a little mileage.

If you want unbiased information, you will not get it here. I suggest Consumers Report, U.S. News and World Report, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, etc. and sort of average out their reports.

Or someone who has a friend that is or might happen to know the answer to this question: Has an initial price point been made for the 2013 Ford Focus ST with the I4 EcoBoost engine? I'm very interested in the Focus (love the look and would be great to get mileage in the same ballpark as the VW TDI line) but I haven't found anything concrete on the EcoBoost model other than the fact it'll be coming out later this year. Thanks guys.

In that case, I suggest an Acura TL. You get good mileage (32 hwy, 27 city - actual, not sticker) and you also get a car that's comfortable and will get up and go when you need it to. And the best part...it's not a Ford Focus.

Or, if you're concerned about the money, buy an '88 Corolla. The money you save on the initial cost will easily make up the difference in fuel economy for years and years. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cooler than a Focus.

    Focus or no focus...

Common sense tells me that noone should listen to the opinion of a Slipknot fan.

  • My brother bought a Ford Focus, which was ironic because he had ADD.

He might have thought my joke was funny when I told him this, but he got distracted by a squirrel.

  • Good news, I found u a great deal on a Focus. It's a "soup kitchen" but don't sweat it...u can only see jizz with a black light. Ignore the hamster droppings as well.

  • I never thought I would say this, but, for the money(If I was gonna spend bw 28k-30k), I would seriously consider the 2012 Kia OPTIMA. They start around 20k for a base model and fully loaded for 28k.

My sister bought one and she says she avg's 38.mpg. this thing has heated and cooled front seats and heated rear seats, Infinity sound system, nav, touchscreen display, sirius sat radio, hell the damn thing even has a heated steering wheel(fwiw). It blew me away when she brought it over to the house to show me and my wife. those are options that most vehicles get into the 40ks to get. She aslo said it comme with a 10yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. thats pretty strong.

    I drive a 06 Ford 500 limited and get beween 26-29mpgs. I love it.

U get a upvote for saying what most others would never admit.....the new Optima is pretty bad ass, BUT the resale is HORRIBLE. Those three letters are still looked down on by the car industries.
