There is a place in dakalb county alabama way out in the sticks in a location called antioch. Barry's bbq is the name and its very unique. The guys restruant is in his backyard and he uses his actual driveway for parking. Unbeleivable place place but u will have to ask a local how to get there
i go with Brooks on the line between sheffield and musle shoals for the pulled pork and hot mustard slaw

these people are called hipsters and for some reason they are moving south at an alarming rate.
Witt's in Athens is my all time favorite. Still the best white sauce I have ever had. I think they put pork drippings in it and I have yet to come close to replicating.
I am from Montgomery, so in the interest of home town love, I'd have to say Sam's in Dalraida is the best in the city. It's not really a prestigious honor, though.
Robertson's in Ralph, AL - near Fosters, Tuscaloosa.
"Character" is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.
I agree with you Blount. Ole JD knows what he's doing over there.
Right there with ya bamapeteng83, Laney's in Selma is on time. That pulled pork sandwich with skins....whewwwweeee!

Why does nobody ever talk about BB Perrin's in Decatur? I'd never heard of it before this week but I ate there a few nights ago and really liked it. Had the smoked loin/ribs combo. Awesome atmosphere as well. Also if you're ever traveling through NW Alabama on 72, check out The Hickory Barn in Clements. It's on the highway west of Athens. Bunyan's in Florence.

I find Miss Myra's white sauce to be fairly pedestrian.
I'm just happy nobody here said "Golden Rule" that place is awful.
For pulled pork you can't beat Whitt's in Athens, or Old Greenbriar near Mooresville.
