Upvotes to all that offer their help! (if that matters to anyone)
So this is a thread where we do 2 things: First, we get to brag about getting to the Fantasy Football Championship game because we're awesome. Second, we offer to help others who are about to play in the fantasy game of their lives! Even if you're not in the playoffs or championship game, please give me/us your thoughts. For those not playing fantasy, remember that recommendations are based on fantasy points, not necessarily who is a better player, etc.
I have 2 dilemmas:
1. Do I start the Falcons or the Rams on Defense? (I could also pick up the Dolphins, Bucs, Chiefs, Colts, Saints, or Jags) If I start the Falcons, then I'm hoping that they destroy the Lions in their game on Saturday... problem is that I have Stafford. So do I go all in on Detroit and hope for a shoot out between the Lions/Falcons or create balance by starting the Falcons over the Rams?
2. Do I start Cecil Shorts or Jeremy Maclin at WR?
My fantasy team "Julio Es El Numero Uno" (18 team office league):
QB: Matthew Stafford
WR: Julio Jones, Randal Cobb, and Jeremy Maclin/Cecil Shorts
RB: Trent Richardson and Ray Rice
K: Steelers guy

Would be hard to keep the Falcons D off the starting roster after what they did last week
Not a guru by any stretch. NOT even close. But, both the Rams and Falcons D's per ESPN's week 16 projections fall well down the list with Atlanta being the worst projection this week of the two. However, they have had good games like last week. Yahoo's fantasy leagues also have both D's far down the list on the projection for week 16. However, yahoo does give Atlanta a bit of a edge facing Detroit. It really depends on how your league is set up and how you can score points. If turnovers, d td's etc. etc. can make up the points they might give up, on paper Atlanta would be better. They have been all year.
Looking at all those available, not much there for this week to choose from and I think if it were me I would just go with whom in my league I felt the best about. Indy play's KC....so can they hold them without scoring much? Maybe, but they haven't been great all year even though that's maybe the weakest matchup for a defense???
Also, I think Shorts could have a nice day. I picked him up in one of my leagues for this weeks final. However, I may not even can use him as I have two other maybe better options/matchups??? I still think he could do well. He has scored double digits in several straight weeks in my scoring leagues - they give bonus points for getting over 100yards in a game. Machlin worries me simply because what are the Eagles going to bring Saturday? If they come and really play...they can score on Washington. Will that be to Jeremy? Who knows for sure?
GOOD LUCK man....Love some fantasy football.

The ONLY thing that keeps me going w/ Maclin is that he busts out a big game every now and then and we all know how it feels to have a guy go for 20+ on your bench. And they're playing the redskins... the 2nd worst passing D in the league. Shorts, on the other hand, is playing the Pats and they're surprisingly the 26th ranked passing D... but I don't want to hedge too many bets against the Pats.
As for the D scoring, yes, we get 7 points for a D touchdown and turnovers, etc and its combined with points allowed. So if they give up 25 points, but get 2 interceptions, the scoring isn't so bad.
Shorts & Rams
Totally understand. But New England's D overall has been playing much much better the last few weeks. The young guys have picked up the schemes fairly well now, including our own former guy....and their DB's are playing a bit better. They are playing for Home Field this weekend - I fully think they have a great day against Jax's but I also think they can move the ball on them which could give Shorts opportunities??? Like I said, if Philly comes to play, Maclin could go off? I really like what Foles can do on certain occasions.
Tough call because you don't want a big scorer on your bench this week. Man I have several in both of my leagues I keep debating over. I've put in what looks like the best matchups and the guys doing well lately. Hope it works ok but we just never know. They can be the greatest one week, and nothing the next
For the love of... This is a pretty good topic that alot of people would probably get in on and it gets moved to the death chamber of threads... aka, the water cooler. For all of the double posts and horrible threads, something that people might actually be interested in gets moved to the cooler.
Question for whoever moved it: Can I start a thread in the Round Table about workout schedules and dieting?? Seem to remember that one hanging out on there for awhile...
The Jets & Carolina are solid plays for defense this weekend.

I brought up the possibility of the staff creating a FF board, just solely for discussion, advice, etc. Tim W. said he would get with Lucky and it may happen next season?
