So how does that prohibit ND from scheduling SEC teams?
3 time POTW
you domers are silly
If ND was planning to they would have instead of scheduling ACC teams. ND is no going to do both. I thought that was obvious.
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
We are only going to play 5 ACC teams a year...now I know I'm no math major but that leaves 7 open slots??
Gringo Mafia Sergeant at Arms - 5 time POTW
And you honestly think that ND will have any interest in playing SEC teams on top of that? You guys are being obtuse.
On top of what?
You make it seem as though the ACC is a bunch of world beaters, and ND wouldn't want to add to their tough schedule by adding an SEC opponent. I thought everyone said the ACC is weak.
I'll break it down this way:
1.) Your own coach said 3 years ago he wanted to, but nothing has happened but ND's pairing with the ACC
2.) ND will continue to play USC and Stanford, which in recent history are not an easy out, and your game with Navy.
3.) I do not know how the schedule rotation will work with the ACC but you could have teams like FSU, Clemson, VT (recent history) that could be tough games against a quality opponent
4.) Since you could potentially have games against top 5-15 USC, Stanford, FSU, Clemson, and VT in some combination, but not all at once, I believe there is a 0% chance that ND would schedule an SEC team like Bama, LSU, aTm, UF, UGA, and USCe were this year. Now granted there is some discrepency between those 6 teams, but all 6 teams individually are very difficult games. If ND were to pile on a TOP SEC team or two on top of that schedule it could turn into murderer's row.
5.) it would make more sense to schedule the bottom half of the conference. However, those games do not help your SOS since undoubtedly you have to play some of the bottom dwellers of the ACC as well, and not sure it helps recruiting since the games will not be high profile.
6.) At the rate things have been going if you were to schedule a top level SEC team, and go undefeated, you may have to beat another one. It's tough to beat multiple top SEC teams and which is why you often see a team like Bama with 1 loss.
6.) Definitely not saying that you guys are scared of the SEC, but more or less that it would be incredibly stupid to throw in a top SEC team and the bottomw half isn't worth it.
Closet ND fan...
I guess we will just have to settle with playing SEC teams in the NC every year. I'll take that
Money is not the only thing you will lose by joining a conf, like say the SEC.
All joking aside, you guys are definitely setting yourselves up to have a very good run.
If I remember correctly UA offered a home & home vs. ND only to be turned down . Too bad you got to face us in your biggest game in the last 25 years.
p.s. Your about to find out why the SEC is so dominant. Its a different type of football you know nothing about.
Just thought this thread needed to be brought back to the top of the board to show everyone what a delusional retard looks like. How you like that game irisham.
Not to brag or anything but, Damn I should have been a Prophet.
Lets schedule Notre Lame next year so we can have a competitive game on our schedule....oh wait, check that.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ???? WHERE ARE YOU?
