Have a old jogging buddy that hurt his Achilles slight tear years ago but he never really would let it heal properly. He just would not stop running or cycling for any length of time...long story short he can no longer run. IMO you would be well served if you would allow yourself to not run for an additional couple months after your Doc says you can return to normal. The Achilles is essential to any endurance sport and not letting it completely heal will just eliminate many years of future sports activities when you are older.
