I posted this ad yesterday on CL.
This morning (Sunday) at about 8am I received this text about the ad.
"Stainless Steel Natural Gas Weber Genesis Grill- $600 I'm interested"
"Ok, do you have any questions?"
his replies (3 of them)
"I'm okay with the price and condition, I'll issue out to you a certified check from my bank, then I will arrange for a pickup after..."
"checked at your bank. I'll need your name and delievery address,(not P.O.) city, state, zip and phone number so that I can...."
mail the check to you via FedEx Express Mail"
"How would you plan to pick it up? I noticed your area code is from the Manhattan area (646 for him area code, I live in Alabama)"
"I'm located in NY but I'm buying for my brother in Alabama"
This seems a little fishy to me but I'm not sure. Any suggestions? I have never sold anything or bought anything on CL so I don't know protocol. I looked up the number he texted me from and it is a VoIP phone.
Another thing here also.....
On his replies back to me when I asked him if he had any questions.
He gave 3 replies, all 3 came back extremely quick and they were labeled 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3. However the 3rd text came in before the 2nd.
With the quickness of the text and them being out of order it made me think they were pre prepared.
It's a scam. Seriously. Don't deal with that guy
1984 300ZX Anniversary Model, 1970 Olds 442 W-30 & Pepper Bird
Anything on craigslist other then "I'm coming over with cash" is a scam.
Another tip - if you're ever on CL and come across an ad touting the services of Arizona-based livestock sex workers, you are probably talking to an undercover cop, so tread carefully.

Even if you're right, I don't think I said anything incriminating. Sure thats somewhat reliant on a progressive attitude towards these things, but America is really starting to come around IMO.
Progressive attitude toward the evidentiary value of your inquiries or progressive attitude toward getting your freak on? TIA.
