I have a job interview in Montgomery. If I get the job, what are the good areas of town a young single dude just starting out should look?
Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, and East Montgomery in that order.
ROLL TIDE ROLL !!!
Old Cloverdale - great community, great setting, in close proximity to Huntingdon College.
If you have the money, all of the new downtown lofts are BA. If I were single, with money, that's prob where I'd be. The entertainment district downtown has become stellar - very unlike old Monfgomery.
If not one of the above, the farther east you go the better. Pike Road will become a great community (it already is, but has a ton of growth in the future.)
downtown or cloverdale. i live in the gump and not a fan of out east..
If you're a 'neck with mud tires, I agree.
Prattville without question
My mom and Paul "Bear" Bryant's mom had something in common....They didn't raise anything but a winner!
Millbrook is 10-12 minutes from downtown Montgomery. I work downtown and it takes me 15 minutes to get from my front door to my office. It took twice as long when I lived off Taylor road.
I am black and don't have mud tires.
Cloverdale is the only place I have ever been where I thought I would be snubbed on one end of the block and robbed on the other....
Anywhere in dalraida is good. Very good neighborhood by gunter air force base.
double post, my bad

Cloverdale, especially if you're going to work downtown. I have a 1.4 mile drive to work, which takes 3-5 minutes depending on whether or not I hit a traffic light. A&P Lofts are pricey, but nice and you can walk down stairs to a bar that usually has a good crowd and live music whenever weather permits. Used to live "out east" and enjoyed it as well, but it seems like that area is dying as people move further east and Pike Road continues to grow.
My sister has had a daycare in Dalraida for almost 10 years, very nice neighborhood, good school district with Dalraida and ACA, nice houses, not too much through traffic once you're off of Wares Ferry. Not sure the selling points would necessarily appeal to a single man though.
typical Gump response. That's why most people want to either move to East Montgomery or move out of the town completely. Prattville, Millbrook, and Wetumpka have grown considerably over the years because people would rather live there but continue to work in Montgomery. It's just a matter of time before places like Old Cloverdale are over taken. They are just blocks from ghetto run down houses. Pike Road is also fairly nice.
Considering you are a single dude the downtown lofts or Old Cloverdale(it is actually nice) wouldn't be bad for the time being. If you intend on raising a family one day here or staying, then stay as far east in the town as you can get or leave. Prattville is definitely a good choice as some have listed here.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It's just that yours is stupid.
LOL. SO TRUE!
Prattville has a good rep.
