Taking my wife up to Birmingham friday night for our Valentine's date, and was wondering what is the best place to eat. I have been to Ruth's Chris and loved it, but heard good things about the Melting pot. Anyone have any other suggestions of a nice place to take her out to?? TIA and RTR!
Bottega and Fleming's are two of my favorites for occasions like this.
Melting pot is cool because the table are somewhat private and the whole "experience" takes about 1.5 hrs. My wife loves it.

Take her to a local, independently owned restaurant where they will actually appreciate your business and your money will stay in Birmingham instead of going into the pocket of some CEO in New York. There are plenty of options and they are all better than Ruth's Chris, Melting Pot or any other chain.
Bottega, Hot & Hot, and Highlands are all great choices. I'm sure some locals will chime in with more great options.
