I'm 99% sure I have it, trying to get in today. Anyway know any remedies to just help you feel a little better? Last night was brutal. When I finally got the 103 fever back under control, my head started hurting so bad I couldnt talk.
Trying to get worked in at the doc now, but I'll take any advice.
Time and Tylenol for fever and muscle aches. Make sure you are staying hydrated. Antivirals can shorten the duration of the attack by 1-3 days but only if they are started within 48hours of Sx onset.

A warm cup/glass of theraflu. It WILL NOT cure you. But it will in most cases give you some relief for a period of time. Sometimes almost makes you feel OK for a minute or two
This, however they've either been bought out, pulled off our local shelves, or our pharmacies can't stock worth a sh!t.
Thanks guys. It's been a looong time since I had it, and it was a lot milder than this. I nearly went to the ER last night. Dizzy, blurred vision, 103 fever, headache like I've never had. TheraFlu makes sense.
whiskey shots also help.
Youngest daughter home with it now. Was prescribed Tamiflu. A couple of us got flu shots, she didn't. Guess we'll find out if this year's vaccine is legit. Get well soon.
Whatever you have heard before, sweating out a fever is wrong. Your body needs to be cooled. Lots of fluids, as already said stay hydrated. Alternate between 800 mg of ibuprofen and 1000 mg of Tylenol for your aches and fever. If its stomach flu you may want to go see your doctor, you'll need zofran or phentergan for nausea.
I have it right now and it sucks.. Feel like I've been ran over by an army tank.. Go to the doctor when you can is my recommendation.. They got me fixed up and I'm better than I was before I went.. I hope those of you who have it get better soon Bc this sucks!!
Thanks. It's mostly head/upper respiratory. I couldnt help myself last night...wrapped in everything and still shaking. I did drink about 60 oz of ice water and a little gatorade and took 2 tylenol. After then tylenol, the fever actually went up for a few hours then fell off.
Right now I just want my head to stop hurting. The joint pain is a close 2nd tho.
They're gonna see me at 1:50 this afternoon. In the meantime, I'm thinking of playing Russian Roulette
Drink Simply Apple. Magic juice

Did anyone receive a flu shot this year and still got the flu?
I got a flu shot about 6 weeks ago, but still got the flu last week. Missed 3 days work. Lasted a full 6 days before I felt worth a damn.
I feel for ya bud.. Just drink the water and Gatorade if possible and try to eat some soup or something.. I've been trying to stay away from light.. Makes the headache a tad better.. Hope ya feel better soon
My son got it last Friday. Was prescribed Tamiflu and went back to school today. Our Dr went ahead & prescribed Tamiflu for the wife and myself to start taking to try and prevent us from catching it from him. So far so good.
Wow. Oldest daughter and myself got the shot. Nothing yet, but we'll see, I guess. First time I've gotten one.
Might have to follow suit and take some. Wife is already doing so.
I'm hoping they give some for my wife. She's almost mad I have the flu lol.
sorry. :) no test board.
Fugging awful. Just for over it a day ago
I never get a flu shot and rarely ever get sick. This years seems to be lethal
