Pay the extra money and get the XL Green Egg. I have one and love it. My neighbor has the L anf it is great as well. Dont listen to the stuff about the XL will use to much charcoal. you can cook off of the remaining coals without any problems.
totally agree. Even grilling for a family of 4 on most nights, the XL is sometimes "smallish"!

I agree with the others that the BGEs are great. Believe it or not, my wife had one when I met her around 16 years ago. I always tell people I married her because of the Green Egg. Mine is a large - I don't think they made the XL size back then, but it is plenty large for a family of 4 or 5. And I believe it is true that it cooks better and better as time goes on. Now, a lot of my neighbors and all 3 brother-in-laws have them!!!
