Brando is a douche.
What, exactly, is your point?
Or maybe a better question is, what do you hope to accomplish?
Nothing wrong with what Brando said IMO, he gave his opinion

can u read?
Jason Collins is not a "hero", unless he's your favorite NBA player I guess
That guy just owned Brando and made him look stupid. I enjoyed it. Thanks for posting.
I don't know why Brando would voice an opinion on this topic. He's poised to replace Verne. Shut up, be the corporate shill, never voice an opinion on social issue and get dream job. .
He might have inspired some 10 year old gay athlete out there, scared of who he is and what society will think of him, into being a little more comfortable with himself. I think Jason Collins did a great thing.
I believe that article is garbage and totally takes brando out of context.I don't like Tim but he said good for him, happy for him but hero I think not.this is still America and we currently do still have free speech an a right to respectfully disagree
Comparing homosexuality to skin color is a major stretch. There is a big difference between what Jackie Robinson did and what Jason Collins did
Where did anyone say didn't have the right to free speech? He has the freedom to speak however he is not above reproach.
Exactly. I just read the Brando tweets, and while I believe he was being cynical in certain areas, I don't believe he was being inflammatory. Regardless of how any of us feel about homosexuality, the argument that Brando was gay-bashing (as the article strongly suggests) is a massive stretch. He was concerned about the loose usage of the term 'hero', and that is the only thing that might merit debate if we really read his tweets.
You have to understand that gays live among people who "respectfully" believe that their lifestyle is an abomination, and "respectfully" believe that they are going to hell because of the way they were born. Yes, you have the freedom to be a bigot and express that in this country, but that does not make it right.
I haven't read the article or any post on this thread yet...
But saying Tim Brando is wrong is like saying Ole Yeller has chins. It's common knowledge.
Yeah, no kidding. And comparing a gay athlete who has come out to a veteran, and saying the gay athlete is more of a hero?
Veterans provide us with the comfort of freedom to express our opinions, our bigotry, our sensitivity to these issues, our idiocy, our intellect - you name it, it's a veteran that guarantees those rights. Veterans who fought and watched fellow soldiers die in the shitholes of the world at the hands of people who would kill a homosexual before he talked to one ... that writer is an insult to all veterans IYAM.
The overwhelming majority of people in this country don't care about homosexual issues bc < 3% of our country actually is LGBT. So stop making it such an in-your-face issue. Jason Collins is NOT Jackie Robinson.
It doesn't make it wrong either. Respectfully expressing an opinion is never wrong. Now standing on top of a platform preaching hate and violence toward any human being is wrong. Did Brando do that?
Do. Not. Get.
