Does anyone use an all online bank, such as Ally Bank or ING Direct Bank? Just curious if any of you do, and what your thoughts are? TIA
Roll Tide Roll
I have never but I do have one recommendation. I would find a way to speak with their customer service before I ever switched over because that is who you would be dealing with regarding debit card disputes stemming from fraudulant charges, any potential O/D's that could stem from bank error, service charge errors, account maintenance, etc. I'm not saying there is a problem but I would just make sure there isn't first. The biggest advantage with traditional banking is that you can develop a relationship with your banker and sometimes that can work to your advantage but the financial industry sucks right now and there is a lot of turnover so developing a long term relationship with your banker may not be possible.
God, give me patience today. If given strength I may beat someone to death.
I have an account with ING...it's not my main account though. I actually signed up to get a sign up bonus and only have a small portion of my direct deposit going there. I've been with them for 3 months though and I like them so far. I didn't talk to anyone first, but BayTider makes a good suggestion. If I ever do have an issue with them though, it's not like I'll have a lot of money tied up.
On a side note, not sure if you are looking at switching financial institutions or it'll be a secondary account like mine, but it wouldn't hurt to look into credit unions either. As BayTider suggested, developing a relationship with someone can be huge. I'm actually a branch manager/loan officer at a credit union and I have members that come directly to me regardless of their issue...and I'm always more than happy to help them out even if it isn't something I typically deal with.
I really appreciate the feedback guys. +1's for your help.
I'm soooo leary of that...If there's ever a F up, I want a PHYSICAL place I can stand in and raise hell until it's fixed...
