  • Any of you guys played at the shoals RTJ courses? I got to play the School Master(IIRC) and The fighting Joe. They were absolutely beautiful courses. I've always was told its the best kept seceret in NW Alabama.Tthe long grass on the master got me into some trouble but I still managed to post a 78, and then the next day fired a 2 under 70 on the Joe flex. It was also decently priced and very good golf for your buck. Now on to my real point. Give me your top 5 golf courses you have played at?
    1. TPC at Saw Grass- favorite ever guys if you ever get the chance to play it go for it. Worth every penny.
    2. Dancing Rabbit MS. (azealas and Oaks courses)Absolutely beautiful and loved it also John daly's home courses
Tie for 3rd Farm Links Sylycauga/ Limestone springs Oneonta AL Top courses in Bama I'd say.
5.Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah GA. Fantastic course and is very difficult.

Lebron James will never be as good as Michael Jordan, thus we should get rid of his nickname, "The King".

Have to agree with Sawgrass. Played it in 08 a month or so before the tournament and it was awesome. First class, course caddie and all. Shot 79 and birdied 17 on Sundays pin placement. Been to Augusta and Harbour town numerous times but Sawgrass is the best I ever played

It really is first class all the way. I shot a 77 and had a par on the Island. Might have been my favorite round ever.

  • 1. The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island
    2. Atlantic Golf Club, Bridgehampton, NY
    3. East Lake Golf Club
    4. Cassique Golf Club
    5. The Honors Course

Honorable mention: Atlanta Athletic Club/Country Club of Birmingham

I don't have it scheduled yet, but should be playing Cypress Point soon. That will be #1 after that.

  • TPC Sawgrass is very overrated in terms of cost and course condition. I have played it 4 times and it has never been in great shape. However, playing 16, 17, 18 are pretty cool. 16 is my favorite hole ever. I have birdied every time I have played it.

TPC Southwind is a good track as well.

Reynolds Plantation - Great Waters and the National are very good.

Cuscowilla is a tad overrated, but I had great caddy which made up for the layout.

Landfall in Wilmington, NC is very good, and Rivers Landing in Wallace, NC allows you to see deer, foxes, etc.

Chambers Bay in washington. It is one of the prettiest courses I have ever seen.

In the state of Alabama, Greystone Legends is my favorite. Shoal's atmosphere is cool, but course was underwhelming. Steelwood in Loxley is my favorite course in the southern part of the state. FarmLinks, Kiva Dunes, Limestone Springs, and the Judge are my other favorites around the state.

Going to Ireland in May, so we will see how links courses match up with these.
