Thinking about buying a Jeep Wrangler

  • Never owned one before. Anyone have experience with these willing to advise? I'm interested in your experience with reliability, on-road handling, off-road experiences, and rollover issues (on-road only -- since my daughter may drive it some as well). Any info is appreciated.

  • I am on my 4th one so u could say I like them. Mine is a four door that is lifted 4 inches and biggger tires and I have had no rollover issues. I depends on your driving habits really. I have climbed many big mountains in KY, WV and PA. Its all aboit gears and tires. They do traverse terrain very well as a stock vehicle too but yoi will still need some better rubber on them. It is not a vehicle that you buy for fuel economy though as it is square. Remeber this JEEP stands for: Just Empty Every Pocket. I love customizing them. Get one dude but keep it for yoirself and give her whatever you are driving!

  • I ve owned 4. Only negative is poor gas mileage. They should put a diesel in it.

  • I used to have one, and IMO it depends a lot on your driving habits. As a student in a small town like Tuscaloosa it was perfect. Didn't do tons of driving so the fuel economy wasn't that big a problem, rarely had more then one passenger, and highway driving was at a minimum so the road noise/general experience of driving 70mph+ with 30" tires wasn't too bad.

Once I moved to a place where I had to do a lot of driving and much of it on the highway I got rid of it real quick.

  • had one in high school...a 95 lifted 3 inches with 32s...

that 4 banger was gutless to begin with, so you can imagine how it was after the lift. definitely go with the 6 cylinder. my clutch went out at 25k miles, but that was probably just a lemon clutch. never had any other proplems and there is not a more fun vehicle made for the summer
