BOL Daily Briefing (11/14)

Next game:Auburn, Saturday, 2:30 p.m., CBS

Alabama coaches are being cautious with freshman running back T.J. Yeldon (bruised foot).

Forecast: Mainly sunny. Highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 30s.

Crimson Tide schedule:
Women’s basketball hosts North Texas tonight at 6:30
Women’s volleyball is at Ole Miss on Wednesday, Missouri on Friday.
Men’s basketball hosts Charleston Southern on Friday, 7 p.m.

Practice report: One of the priorities this week is turnovers, both getting them on defense and preventing them on offense. “Ball security on offense is also critical, because turnover ratio is paramount to being successful,” Coach Nick Saban said. “It's one of the leading stats in winning and losing. We haven't done ourselves any favors the last couple of games.”

Injury update: Junior cornerback John Fulton (turf toe) was at practice after missing the Western Carolina game. Junior wide receiver Kevin Norwood participated in drills during the observation period, but running back T.J. Yeldon and wide receiver Kenny Bell were both limited. Freshman wide receiver Chris Black continues to practice in a black, no-contact jersey, but for the first time wore a scout-team number.

Stat of the day: Five of the last nine games against Auburn have been decided by seven points or less, and 19 of the last 24 have been decided by 10 points or less.

Quote of the day: “ What we try to stress from our players is trying to learn from your previous experience. What I see happening is people get sort of emotionally stressed out relative to their circumstances, which is where they're ranked, who they're playing. And all of a sudden you get tentative and don't play aggressively, you don't prepare the same way. You're worrying emotionally, which affects your ability to focus and you don't play as well. None of these things are bad things. There's nobody taking anybody out and shooting them behind the barn because we've got an opportunity to play in this game. We've got an opportunity to play in this game and maybe another game, that's a good thing. That's something that everybody worked hard to create. You know, be positive.” – Nick Saban
