TUSCALOOSA _ Sophomore defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore is leaving the University of Alabama and is expected to transfer to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Sentimore was one of three players suspended indefinitely by Nick Saban for violating team rules, none of whom was listed on the team roster in the 2011 media guide.
Defensive lineman Brandon Moore took summer classes at East Mississippi Community College while wide receiver Keiwone Malone is transferring to his hometown to play for Memphis.
Additionally, safety Robby Green was suspended for the 2010 season by the NCAA and did not participate in spring drills as Saban continued to describe his status as “suspended indefinitely.” He’s since decided to transfer to Division II California University of Pennsylvania.
Sentimore, from Destrehan High School in Norco, La., played in 11 games last season and made nine tackles with four quarterback hurries and a forced fumble against San Jose State. He was expected to challenge for more playing time this season, but as a reserve for the White Team during A-Day had a tackle, ½ for a loss, and a hurry.
